Innovature Upgrades to ISO/IEC 27701:2025 Certification

Innovature has been certified to ISO/IEC 27701:2025, the latest edition of the international standard for privacy information management systems (PIMS). The new certification upgrades our previous ISO/IEC 27701:2019 certification and builds on our ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. It confirms that our controls for personal data, sensitive information and AI use meet current international requirements.
What Is ISO/IEC 27701:2025?
ISO/IEC 27701:2025 sets out requirements and guidance for managing personal data through a privacy information management system. ISO published this second edition in October 2025. ISO describes it as an independent management system standard that aligns with ISO/IEC 27001.
The standard applies to organizations that process personal data, whether for their own purposes or on behalf of others. For a BPO provider, the second role matters most, because our teams handle personal data for clients every day.
What the Upgrade Covers at Innovature
As part of the upgrade, Innovature strengthened its privacy and security controls in four areas:
- AI security and data protection: Controls on how AI tools are used, so that company and client information is not disclosed without authorization.
- Sensitive data protection: Defined procedures for handling, processing and sharing sensitive information securely.
- Personal data privacy: Strict controls over how personal information is collected, processed, stored and disclosed, so that it is not shared with unauthorized third parties.
- Policy compliance and awareness: Regular security awareness activities and checks that employees follow our information security and privacy policies.
Every department took part in the audit. Maintaining the certification depends on the same daily discipline across all teams that serve our clients.
What It Means for Our Clients
Our Finance & Accounting, Customer Experience and Data & Analytics teams regularly process client data that includes personal information. Independent certification gives clients third-party evidence that this data is handled under a structured, audited privacy management system.
This applies across the work our teams perform. Finance and accounting processes can involve payroll records, employee expense claims and supplier details. Customer experience teams work with customer names, contact details and order histories. Data processing projects often include documents that contain personal information. In each case, access, handling and sharing follow the same certified privacy controls.
The certification can also support clients’ own vendor due diligence. It gives procurement, security and compliance teams a recognized reference point when they assess how an outsourcing partner protects personal data.
